Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses, and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

We at Scania’s Powertrain Control System are looking at expanding our team of Release Coordinators to meet future challenges in the automotive industry. We need to supply industry-leading performance and functionality to keep our position as a leader in the heavy-duty market. Currently, we are delivering our control system to several companies within the Traton Group that are based in Sweden, Germany, and the U.S. The improvements we are making to our systems have an extremely large positive impact on the global environment over the next few decades.

To stay ahead of the competition, we need to continuously improve our product, development environment, tools, and methods to stay ahead of the competition. In this role, you are the spider in the network as we develop drivelines for sustainable transport!

The team

In the Engine System SW group (ENESX) we deliver the complete software package (software and calibration) for the Engine and Aftertreatment Control Systems, which are one of Scania’s most advanced real-time control system.

We coordinate many different teams that work with software development and calibration of the software. Our group consists of experienced and outgoing people, with different cultural and educational backgrounds, as we see strength in diversity. We prioritize personal development, helpfulness, and collaboration in the team.

Your role

As a Release Coordinator, you will act as a part-project leader across several parallel engine projects, focusing on the coordination and delivery of engine software calibration.

The role gives you a very good foundation for continuing your career as a developer or leader through an unusually wide network of contacts throughout the engine development organization in the form of developers, calibrators, managers, test leaders, production coordinators, aftermarket, and more. You also get a good insight into both hardware and software in the various engine projects and overall knowledge of several parts of the product.

Your work assignments

In close cooperation with the other Release Coordinators in the group, you will be responsible for handling the release of new software for production and aftermarket. This includes the following responsibilities:

• Coordinate and follow up on the calibration deliveries
• Handle deviations in the deliveries together with the project management and development groups
• Construct the software files and deliver them to production and aftermarket
• Handle extra releases for field quality issues
• Sustain the calibration library and database
• Further develop and quality assure processes for calibration

Your profile

We think you have a Master of Science in embedded systems/business management like Industrial engineering and management or similar or worked in similar areas for a quite long time. We see that you are either newly graduated or with a few years of relevant experience. Being structured and organized in the way you perform your work is highly important when dealing with a large number of engine types and project deliveries in parallel. Also important to be patient and methodical with the number of important administrative tasks that exist in the role. We would like you to have an improvement mindset and find efficient ways for us to continuously improve our way of working.

You are fluent in writing and speaking English.
