As a Contractor Manager at Outokumpu, you'll play a crucial role in optimizing contractor usage, ensuring compliance regulations & operational excellence. You'll lead change management initiatives, develop strategic policies and ensure alignment with Outokumpu's mission and goals, to ensure efficiency and effectiveness within our organization.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Management: Establish and oversee the daily usage and long-term strategic management of contractors within the Avesta site.
• Process Development: Develop and implement processes & policies to ensure the safety, quality, compliance and efficiency of contractor work while maintaining strict cost control. Implement initiatives to prioritize internal resources over contractors, enhancing efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Leadership & Collaboration: Lead change management activities related to contractor management, collaborating with various departments including Asset Management, Operations, Maintenance, Procurement, Finance, and Safety.
• Communication: Ensure regular communication at all levels within the organisation, including contractor leadership, and effectively manage anticipated resistance.
• Training and Education: Coach and educate managers and supervisors on proper usage and control of contractors to ensure the highest level of contractor deliverables.
• Performance Metrics: Define and measure success metrics, monitoring asset alignment to meet Avesta's strategic goals and objectives. Create metrics to govern contractors' adherence to safety, cost, quality of work, and efficiency, ensuring accountability and continuous improvement.
• Reporting: Provide regular progress and results updates to site leadership, ensuring transparency and accountability in contractor management efforts. Develop audit processes to verify contractor deliverables, ensuring alignment with quality standards and contractual agreements.

Requirements

• Bachelor- or Master’s degree in engineering (Technology, Business or Economics/Finance) or equivalent experience.
• Previous experience in a similar role or comparable experience.
• Experience working with Swedish law, particularly in contract management and compliance.
• Strong leadership abilities, with a track record of driving change and delivering results in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to communicate at all levels within the organization.
• Organized and structured work attitude with focus on targets.
• Fluency in both Swedish and English (written & verbal) is a must.
