Pricing & Promotions at RELEX

Pricing and Promotions is where strategic decision-making meets advanced technology. We build tools that enable retailers to make confident, data-driven pricing decisions at scale. Our cloud-native applications run on Google Cloud Platform, combining robust Golang backend services with a seamless TypeScript/React front end.

Our data platform processes millions of rows of customer data using Golang workflows orchestrated by Temporal. With ClickHouse and Postgres as hybrid analytical layers, we deliver responsive insights that balance pre-calculation and real-time computation. We also leverage Vertex AI to strengthen our machine learning capabilities, ensuring insights are fast, actionable, and meaningful.

About the Position

As an Head of Science within our Development Organization, you will guide both the technical delivery and the growth of a high-impact engineering team. You will step in hands-on when needed, but your primary focus will be enabling the team to succeed—removing blockers, ensuring clarity, and cultivating an environment where people can do their best work.

You will drive decisions around priorities and design, lead technical discussions, and communicate seamlessly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You’ll be responsible for mentoring and developing team members, improving code quality, and strengthening engineering practices. You will also hire and onboard new colleagues, shape team culture, and contribute to the team’s daily work.

What You’ll Do

• Build a collaborative, inclusive team culture that promotes innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement.

• Ensure best practices in software development—code quality, scalability, performance, and security—are consistently upheld.

• Oversee development of system integrations, data flows, and analytical engines that elevate the product experience.

• Lead cross-functional work on APIs written in Golang and guide efficient deployments on Google Cloud Platform.

• Oversee deployment processes using Kubernetes and ensure optimized data access from platforms such as ClickHouse, BigQuery, and Postgres.

• Mentor backend and frontend developers, sharing your expertise in Go and/or React/TypeScript.

• Drive intuitive, fast, and user-friendly product development through structured planning and execution.

• Stay informed about advancements in AI, ML, and modern engineering practices, applying relevant innovations to ongoing development.
