If so, then we invite you to join our Battery Management System Hardware team for the position Senior Electronics Hardware Design Engineer!

At the Electronics Engineering (EE) section we´re responsible for the electronic hardware and software in Volvo Groups Trucks Electromobility deliveries. We are accountable for the lifecycle management of our delivery, from advanced engineering, throughout product development into the maintenance phase. 

In the Battery Management System (BMS)-HW team we´re now looking for an experienced Electronics Engineer that can join us in our commitment towards achieving our common goals and grow as a team. Today the team runs a semi-agile set up, where we build on team members strengths and complement each other to become successful with our deliverables and to have fun at work.

What will you do?

This position is specifically targeted at developing and oversee delivery of parts inside a battery module. Since we do development in a collaborative way you will do the design of the parts together with other team members from BMS-HW and align with, among others, module developers, Production specialists, Suppliers, Purchasing specialists. Since BMS-HW’s components are highly affecting the customer experience we have a zero-failure mindset in the team and share freely our experience and knowledge with whoever is interested in the Volvo group. 

Who are you?

As a person you are a team player and a problem solver, you drive for results and easily breaks down problems in smaller parts that you have no problem explaining to your teammates or project teams. You are quick to pick up technical details, structured, and have a good sense for planning both your own work with the partner companies but also supporting your teammates and the projects you deliver to. By communicating in a clear and effective manner you can identify opportunities, address challenges, and align with cross-functional teams specializing in this area to coordinate our deliveries. And when team members need your help, you freely offer support and share your knowledge. You are curious and probably like to tinker with technology on your spare time.

Relevant Experience

To succeed in the role as Senior Electronics Hardware Design engineer – BMS-HW we believe that you have the following background:

• Engineering, preferably MSc. Electrical Engineering/Power Electronics
• 5-6 years in similar positions.
• Extensive experience in coordinating and cooperating with automotive Tier1 Electronics suppliers.
• Knowledge & Experience from component delivery time planning (MS Project), DFMEA, SFMEA, 5-why, 8D-process and others.
• Successful track record in using and delivering with Altium Designer and CREO.
• Long experience with good track records in teamwork with co-workers. 
• A very good understanding in Hazards when introducing and designing electronics in higher voltage applications.

Merit

Experience in the Electromobility area at other manufacturers and/or Customer interface at Tier 1 Electronics automotive suppliers.
