Micvac is a technology pioneer with a focus on providing integrated equipment and packaging solutions for producing delicious ready-to-eat meals. This system based technology was invented and patented by us, and delivers superior benefits across the value chain from producers, to retailers, and consumers. We are solidly established in the Nordics (30% of the Swedish market) and already present in multiple markets across the globe.

Bringing innovative technology to the market requires an innovative approach in itself. We are changing the way food is produced: more sustainable, more cost effective, and eliminating the bad stuff that is too often used in food production. To support us on this mission we are looking for a Senior PLC Developer with a strong background in machine automation and control systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, programming, and optimizing PLC systems for industrial machinery.

The majority of work is carried out at our office and workshop in Gothenburg, with the flexibility to support customers remotely when needed. Since our customers are spread across the globe, primarily in Europe, occasional travel (30–50 days per year) is required to assist with the commissioning of new machines and upgrades.

Our current PLC platform utilizes a Codesys-based PLC (Binar) and an HMI developed in Delphi. We are now in the process of developing a new platform based on Siemens TIA Portal, designed for future machine production — an exciting challenge for you to take the lead on and decide on architecture and technologies to be used.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement PLC control systems for automated machinery
• Program and optimize PLC and HMI/SCADA systems
• Troubleshoot and improve existing automation solutions
• Work with electrical, mechanical, and software engineers to integrate control systems
• Commissioning of our machines in workshop and at a customer site
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations
• Provide technical support and documentation

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in PLC programming and automation
• Proficiency in Siemens TIA and Codesys based development environment i.e. Beckhoff, Binar, Wago, Schneider Electric
• Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Profibus, Can-bus, Ethernet/IP)
• Experience with motion control and machine vision systems is a plus
• Previous experience in the food processing industry is a big advantage
• Object based programming language, preferably experience from building HMIs integrated to PLC-system preferable Delphi (Embarcadero)
