About the role

We are seeking a technically proficient and detail-oriented Product Owner – Heat Pump Systems to lead the development of heat pump modules and ensure their successful integration into modern HVAC and smart home environments. In this role, you will work closely with R&D, engineering, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-performing, compliant, and user-friendly heating solutions.

You will serve as the voice of the product within development teams, translating strategic objectives into actionable user stories and maintaining a clear, prioritized backlog. Your work will directly influence the performance, reliability, and regulatory readiness of our next-generation residential and commercial heating systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with R&D and engineering teams to design and optimize heat pump modules for performance, efficiency, and reliability.
• Ensure seamless integration with heat pump systems, HVAC components, smart home ecosystems, and energy management platforms.
• Manage and prioritize the product backlog, defining clear user stories, technical requirements, and acceptance criteria.
• Together with Certification and Sustainability Manager, ensure that heat pumps meet all necessary certifications, environmental regulations, and energy efficiency standards (e.g., ErP, EHPA, UL, CE).
• Oversee prototype development, lab testing, and field trials to validate performance, reliability, and user experience.
• Gather feedback from customers, installers, and service teams to continuously improve heat pump functionality and usability.
• Track key metrics such as efficiency, durability, connectivity, and user experience to refine the module/product design and features.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including firmware/software developers, mechanical engineers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field (Master’s degree preferred)
• 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Technical Product Manager, ideally within the HVAC, heat pump, or smart home industries
• Hands-on experience with heat pump development, system design, or component integration
• Familiarity with product certification processes and regulatory compliance (ErP, EHPA, CE, UL, etc.)
• Deep understanding of heat pump systems, thermodynamics, and HVAC architectures, with the ability to make technically informed decisions.
• Familiarity with integrating hardware and software components in complex environments involving IoT, control systems, and third-party platforms.
• Proficient in agile methodologies, backlog grooming, sprint planning, and working closely with cross-disciplinary development teams.
• Passion for solving user pain points and enhancing installer and end-user experiences.
• Understanding of environmental and safety standards relevant to HVAC and renewable energy products.
• Strong communication skills to translate complex requirements between business, technical, and compliance stakeholders in English, both written and oral.
