As a Junior Data Engineer at Bubbi, you’ll help build a new AI-powered analytics product that turns natural-language questions into trusted, actionable insights for our clients. You’ll work across our modern stack with LLMs, BigQuery, Python, and FastAPI to shape the foundations of a system that processes large-scale behavioural data and generates meaningful business intelligence. We’re a small, fast-moving team, and you’ll have real ownership from day one. You’ll contribute to everything from building data pipelines to optimizing query generation and helping design the engine that powers our insights. You don’t need to know everything already we’re looking for an analytical, curious engineer who learns quickly and enjoys getting hands-on. You’ll collaborate closely with a senior engineer who will support your growth as we ship product together. If you want to join early, build impactful features, and shape both the product and our ways of working, we’d love to meet you.

What you’ll do

You will develop next-generation analytics solutions that power smarter e-commerce decisions by applying the latest AI models to deliver value-creating solutions for our clients. In your work you will extend and tidy FastAPI endpoints for analytics access, expose selected KPI metrics via API. Additionally, you will integrate and optimize OpenAI’s API to build a secure, reliable, and high-performing product. You’ll ensure that all AI-driven components operate safely at scale and contribute to a robust overall architecture.

Besides working with the product development you will

  • Client Onboarding analysis: run the initial customer analysis and further develop it and standardize it
  • Add observability, logging, basic metrics, alerts, and simple SLOs
  • Product monitoring: set up KPI tracking, run QA during launches, and continue monitoring post-launch
  • Tracking QA (web & app): validate event schemas, identity/session logic, issue a documented green-light for analysis
  • Dashboards: Continued backend development
  • Pipelines: schedule/monitor nightly jobs; validation tests, and simple performance follow-up

Minimum qualifications

  • Master’s in Engineering/Computer Science (early-career welcome).
  • Solid Python and pandas; basic Git/GitHub.
  • Comfortable with SQL (BigQuery a plus): can review/adjust AI-generated queries and reason about bytes scanned/performance.
  • Willing to learn FastAPI/Pydantic and Docker quickly.
  • Uses AI coding assistants effectively with a verification mindset.
  • Basic understanding of tracking (events, sessions) and reproducibility in analytics.

  • Cloud Run or similar; simple caching layers
  • Cloud Logging/Monitoring; Looker/Looker Studio
  • Basic experimentation concepts (exposure/assignment, metric definitions; light stats literacy)
