About the Role

Do you want to be part of a well-established, global technology company shaping the future of how vehicles are developed and tested?

IPG Automotive Sweden AB is now looking for an Applications Engineer to join our team. This is a key technical role where you will work with advanced simulation solutions used by leading players in the automotive industry. You will combine engineering expertise, problem-solving and customer interaction in a highly specialized and innovative field.

You will join a small, experienced and close-knit Swedish team, where each role has real impact. With short decision paths and strong support from our global organization, you will have both responsibility and freedom to drive technical work forward.

Your Responsibilities

As an Applications Engineer, you will:

• Plan, carry out and complete compelling client projects on a national and international level
• Customize and configure simulation models, environments and tools based on customer needs
• Analyse customer processes and technical requirements to develop effective solutions using IPG Automotive tools as well as automotive industry standard tools.
• Evaluate simulation results, analyse data and present findings to customers
• Deliver technical workshops, demonstrations and training
• Contribute to proof-of-concept work and pre-sales activities together with sales and technical colleagues
• Regularly support local customers onsite
• Supporting and performing long-term development and research projects with a focus on driver assistance and automated driving functions

This is a role where you are expected to take initiative, work independently and contribute actively to the development of our local operations.

Who You Are

We believe you have:

• A Master’s degree or similar in Mechatronics, Software/Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field
• Experience in at least one of the following fields; automotive simulation, automotive control units, driver assistance systems, sensors or simulation technology
• Knowledge of simulation, control systems, vehicle systems or testing/validation
• Programming experience (e.g., Python, C/C++ or similar) and familiar with both Windows and Linux environments
• Understanding Software architecture, MiL/SiL/HiL workflows, tool couplings, co-simulation (FMI, Simulink, Open Standards), API’s, various communication protocols (e.g. CAN, EtherCAT, FlexRay)
• A strong analytical mindset and the ability to solve complex technical problems
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with customers and colleagues
• Fluent English in speech and writing (Swedish is a plus)
• Willingness to travel nationally and internationally
