At Axis Communications we have delivered several groundbreaking products and look forward to pioneering many more. We are now looking to strengthen our System Products Recorder team with an Embedded Software developer at our HQ in Lund, Sweden.

The System Products Recorder team develops software for new Linux Network Recorders and storage features in our user-space Linux platform, AXIS OS. We're a diverse group with a wide range of skills, experiences, and backgrounds, united by a shared enthusiasm for software development and emerging technologies.

What you will do here as an Embedded Software Developer

In the role as embedded software developer at System Products you take ownership for the project you are working in, but you also feel the joint responsibility that all the projects in our department move forward and meet their targets. We succeed at this working as a team. Development is primarily done in C, Go and Python and always in an embedded Linux environment. Even though most of what we deliver is intended to be consumed by other software we try not to 'get stuck in the middle' but rather to always deliver with the end-user in mind.

The responsibilities of the role include:

• Developing software in Linux user space.
• Developing and delivering new features to Axis products.
• Mastering complex problems within recording and storage solutions.
• Optimizing our embedded system performance.

Who are you?

We believe that you are an engineer who enjoys solving problems and building functionality through coding. You excel in collaborative settings and are comfortable working with colleagues across different teams, both within the organization and among our external partners. You bring creativity to your work and value the opportunity to share knowledge and ideas within the team. For this position we are primarily looking for someone with at least 4 years of working experience.

We'd love to hear that you have:

• Experience in C programming, preferably in an embedded environment like Linux.
• Engineering bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, physics, mathematics engineering or equivalent.

Even better if you have several of the following qualifications:

• Experience in using AI-based tools to support and enhance daily development workflows.
• Experience in Python and Go.
• An interest in Software design and architecture.
• Experience working with Git, Gerrit, Jira and Yocto.
• Working knowledge of test automation and build-systems.
• Domain knowledge of storage media.
