Are you passionate about advanced materials, semiconductor innovation, and hands-on work with cutting-edge vacuum systems? We are looking for a talented specialist to join our research team! About us RISE is Sweden’s state-owned research institute, working to strengthen industry and promote a sustainable society. With 3,100 employees and around 100 technology infrastructures, we drive innovation across sectors.

ProNano in Lund is one of these technology infrastructures, offering infrastructure for pilot production for scaling semiconductor technology from lab to fab. As part of the Quantum Technology and Semiconductors unit, we’re a diverse team supporting companies with lab space, equipment rental, and expert services — forming a key enabling ecosystem for start-ups and entrepreneurs.

The role

In this hybrid role, you will:

• Contribute to R&D in wide-bandgap nanowire-based semiconductors
• Maintain and optimize vacuum systems for research and customer projects
• Collaborate with experts in epitaxy, device fabrication, and packaging
• Work hands-on with advanced equipment, engage with customers, and help secure funding

Key Responsibilities

Research:

• Conduct research on nitride/oxide-based semiconductors
• Support grant applications

Equipment & Process:

• Operate and maintain MOCVD systems
• Perform calibration, troubleshooting, and process control (SPC)

Who are you?

Required qualifications:

• PhD in Materials Science, Physics, or a related field
• Knowledge of MOCVD tools for semiconductor material manufacturing
• Hands-on experience with technical hardware in a lab setting
• Strong written and spoken English skills

Preferred qualifications:

• MOCVD maintenance experience
• Background in semiconductor industry or research labs
