At Tata Technologies we make product development dreams a reality by designing, engineering and validating the products of tomorrow for the world’s leading manufacturers. Due to our continued growth, we are now recruiting for a Senior Design Engineer to strengthen our team in Gothenburg.

The role

At the department Exterior Front and Rear, we believe that being curious and truly committed to understand people is the key to future success. We are people who care about other people, working together to create new technologies and innovations for safe, sustainable and convenient mobility.

The team is having the responsibility of developing exterior parts like Emblems, Roof spoilers, Tailgate appliques and Tailgates.

Main attributes are Design, Aero, Contamination, Perceived Quality, NVH and Solidity. We are drawing the first lines on blank paper in the beginning of the product development and either onboard an external supplier (FSS) or continue to lead the development work to mass production (Built to Print).

We are the main responsible and are taking ownership for the parts independently of sourcing strategy. At Group Rear Opening Systems we are establishing global technical strategies to move at the speed of technology.

At Exterior Front and Rear we are seeking simplicity and improvements daily to spend time where the value is added.

Responsibilities

• As Design Engineer you are taking ownership of the product design, surface appearance, attribute functions and manufacturing are some examples of important features the design need to fulfil.

• You will be a part of a cross functional team developing towards being a world class engineering office in the industry.

• You will be involved in early phase of the program to set the system design to the very last part of the industrialization phase. The design engineer is following the verification phase to bring learnings from testing and production environment.

• You will have a lot of interaction with designers from surrounding parts and other stakeholders on daily basis. Catia V5 and Team Center will be the main tools for you in your daily work.

Requirements

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or other equivalent education

• Documented experience in use of Catia V5

• Knowledge in engineering design, manufacturing, mechanical joining and behavior of materials

• In depth knowledge in sheet metal, injection molded and painted plastic design is considered as merit

• Preferably driver´s license B
