We are now looking for a new colleague to join our team as Wiring Harness/LV Engineer.

Being part of Battery Optimization and Monitoring - Technology

Battery Optimization and Monitoring – Technology is a function within Volvo Energy that works with second life applications of vehicle battery packs, monitoring and data analytics, optimization of remaining useful life, battery safety and new offerings for stationary Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

Working in very close cooperation with our colleagues from Volvo Group and especially together with Group Trucks Technology, we create new business offer opportunities as well as value propositions.  

What are we looking for in this specific role?

As a Wring Harness/LV Engineer at Volvo Energy, you will be at the forefront of shaping the future of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). Your primary mission will be to lead the design and development of wiring solutions for our BESS applications. You will be the driving force behind designing technical solutions, suggesting improvements, and conducting fault tracing of cables and wiring harness.

Your starting point will be:

• Initiate, lead, and drive the design and development of wiring harnesses/low voltage system/24 V schemes for our BESS applications.
• Develop, document, and visualize the wiring harness and power cable components (wires, cables, connectors, passives, brackets, and cable channels). 
• Design technical solutions, identify improvements, and propose new technical solutions as well as fault tracing of cables/wiring harnesses in our rigs/prototype builds.

Qualifications likely required to be successful 

• Electrical/mechanical degree holder (e.g. Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics engineering
• Knowledge of EMC, electrical system design, electrical schematics
• Comfortable working in both 2D and 3D, as well as hands-on.
• Skills in System Weaver, Microsoft Visio, and Creo PTC are meritorious.
